INSTALL ADVICE 

Directory structure when you unzip the maillist.zip

  

http://www.yourname.com/maillist/ ( all the files ) 
http://www.yourname.com/about.php 
http://www.yourname.com/readme.txt
http://www.yourname.com/install.txt 
http://www.yourname.com/index.php 


Now we gone to rename the index.php to letter.php
(NB do not rename to mail.php or this could get you into trouble)

Leave it to index.php for an easy installation !! 


Make sure the following files are writeble 

globals.php 
temp/ (and including files for the export function)
uploads/ ( for the wysiwyg images ) 

Now open up 
http://www.yourname.com/letter.php 
 

Click on administration 

The automatic installer will appear 

Fill in the paths for the website url 

Website URL ( including the root path ) 
http://www.yourname.com/ 

Path where mailist is stored 
maillist/ 

Relative string ( see index.php on how to set it ) 
letter.php?page=mail& 

Now open up 
http://www.yourname.com/letter.php 

and test with filling some email adresses in the subscribe boxes 

NOW we want it to put it on our excisting homepage 

Open up a php file in which you want to include the boxes
for example homepage.php 

Some where in the homepage.php page put in

$mailbar=1;
$group=1; 
include("maillist/mailbar.php"); 
?> 

(choose from $mailbar1 to 4 and later select a group) 

Then somewhere on the same page also put the following lines

if ($_GET['page'] == "mail") 
{ 
include("maillist/mailmain.php"); 
} 
if ($_GET['page'] == "about") 
{ 
include("about.php"); 
} 
}else { 
/* include( your messages "); */

?> 

Where the sentence appear :Your subscribe messages here: 
your subscribe messages will appear 

I delete the sentence :Your subscribe messages here: so I don't see that line in my homepage

Now change the Relative string ( see index.php on how to set it ) 
to homepage.php?page=mail&
